Commemoration

His death was commemorated by an obituary in the Bendigo newspapers on 11 May 1914 in Victoria, Australia, The funeral of the late Mr. Arthur William Andrew took place yesterday, leaving the residence of his brother-in-law (Mr. John Hawkey), "Kenwin," High-street, Golden-square. The exceedingly large attendance of sorrowing friends who joined the cortege, led by many members of the Rechabite Order, plainly indicated the high esteem in which deceased was held in life. The coffin was borne to the grave, in the Melhodist section by Messrs. E. Davidson, R. Evans, H. Laity, D. Davey, P. Davidson, and T. Stevenson, where an impressive burial service was conducted by Rev. W. J. Palamountain, and the hymn "Nearer My God to Thee" was sung. The funeral ceremony of the Corona Lodge of the Masonic Order was conducted by Bro. C. Forbes, W.M., and the funeral hymns, "Here Another Guest We Bring," ''What Sounds of Grief?" and "Light of the World," were effectively rendered. The service of the Rechabite Order was solemnised by Bro. R. H. Beers, C.R. Amongst the large collection of beautiful floral tributes was a handsome domed immortelle from the Golden-square Working Men's Club. The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. W. Farmer, McCrae-street.8
