  • Research note 01: Elizabeth FELLOWES born at Shotesham 27th Dec 1786 married Rev George HOWES, then died Spixworth Parsonage 8th August 1817. Rev George HOWES then married Maria Margaret BLAKE. She died 11th Feb 1820 and he 27th Sept 1855.3

In 1845, Spixworth had only 52 souls and 2,009 acres of land. The land belonged to John LONGE the Lord of the Manor who resides at the Hall, a large mansion in an extensive and well-wooded park. Rev HOWES was the rector of the church, which was endowed by John LONGE.

The Hall was demolished in 1950, at the grand old age of 350.
