Military Career

Records show that Henry Capel Coe served in the armed forces. He was a sargeant in the 12th Maori reinforcements in WW1. He enlisted (as a private) October 1914, and he served overseas. Previous to his WW1 service, he was in South Africa - for which he MUST have put his age up, as his papers say he was 20 years and 3 months in Jan 1902. He was awarded the SA medal (Transvaal), with a clasp for Cape Colony. henry's full Army history is available for download http://www.archway.archives.govt.nz.2
