Primary events

Secondary circumstances

  • Occupation: Henry was a thatcher. Could the thatcher, William WHATLING, who was living in Oakley in 1874 (see exhibit for Seymour HUNT) be a relative?

Census details

  • Henry was named first in the census taken on the night of 6th June 1841. Others in the house included Sarah Rowland, but no relationships were recorded in this census. The address was Stradbroke, Suffolk, England. He was aged 80 years.

Research Notes

  • Research note 01: Most Watling family tree on Ancestry show a death registration a year earlier, but as he was buried in 1845 aged 85 I believe it is this death that is the most likely. We need to get a certificate, but this won't tell us his parents. If we can find who he is buried with or near we may be able to confirm..
