Census details

Military Career

Records show that Christmas Patterson served in the armed forces. Christmas served in the Northumberland Hussars 1908-1916 under the name of Charles. I am confident that the Charles who served in France as a transport driver, at the ripe age of 46, is the Christmas born in Yarmouth. One page of his service records shows Mary Ann as his NOK, he was living in the same house in 1911 as he was when he took delivery of his War Service Medal in 1919, and his birth month as stated on his attestation papers, was the same as Christmas'.11
