DNA Research Notes

Research note Re DNA test(s): I think I can see our link. It is a long way up, but my existing research has already identified that William ALDIS b 4th July 1741 in Ringsfield is my 5GGF.

In my research he has a wife Elizabeth TAYLOR (yes I laughed as well). Married 6th April 1772. Seeing as you and I match with DNA at about the right 'cousin level' I am taking this as (1) confirmation my research is OK AND (2) yours is as well.

Your ancestor is James who married CHAPMAN. Mine is James' sister Elizabeth who married Anthony EVERETT..

Anecdote - Musings and Reasonings

Research note (complicated): From an email to George ALDIS - In an effort to connect this William to the James who married Sarah TOWER, location Bedingham area.

William ALDIS born before 1710. I believe he had children in Woodton (Sarah b1734) before marrying Elizabeth CURTIS in Ringsfield 1738. If this is correct, then there is a connection to the area, Woodton is 4 miles from Bedingham. I am thinking that it would be good to link the James who married Sarah TOWER (who must have been born before 1723) into the same nameless father or grandfather of William who was born before 1710.

Locus Operandi
