Primary events

  • Birth: Ann (?) was born between 1811 and 1816 in Norfolk, England, I originally assumed she was Honor's sister, as they were enumerated together in 1841 census, but no relationships were noted. Now I believe they were sisters-in-law, with Ann married to one of Honor's brothers. Ann was a witness to Honour's marriage in 1829.
  • (Witness) Marriage: She witnessed the marriage of William (Damaris) Blake and Honour Chittock on 14 September 1829 in Great Poringland, Norfolk, England; By Licence.1,2
  • Marriage: Ann (?) married Chittock, son of Joshua Chittock and Sarah Culling, between 1833 and 1841. Not found in free bmd in Norfolk. An Ann WHITE married a William CHITTOCK in Westminster Sep qtr 1838 1/365.

Secondary circumstances

  • Married Name: Her married name was Chittock.

Research Notes

  • Research note 01: Found in 1841 census with no relationship to William noted. A widowed Ann CHITTOCK who was born in 1815 married a John WILLIS (bachelor born in 1828) in King's Lynn, date of marriage was 18/3/1852. John was a hawker and both lived in Norfolk Street at the time of the marriage. Ann was born a BLOOMFIELD and her father was James who was a baker. Info from free reg
    * No BLOOMFIELD/CHITTOCK marriages in 1820-1837 in Norfolk. I found Drane CHITTOCK to Pamela BLOOMFIELD Sep qtr 1847 in Hoxne 13/671.
    * 1871 census shows this couple as John a PEDLAR born Henley on Thames Oxfordshire in 1806? And Ann born Market Dereham in 1816. They were living in a common boarding house in Bishop Stopford, Hertfordshire.
    * Looking backwards this same couple in 1861 were lodgers in the same town, but were listed as slipper makers born 1800 ad 1816. Birthplace for Ann is Dereham
    * Looking forward - not found in 1881.
Her being Married to one of Honour's brothers is the most likely scenario now we know that Ann's birthplace was Dereham, and note that no other researchers have this lady as Honor's sister.3
  • Research note 02: possible death 1847 Chittock, Ann - Henstead. 13/121.

There are no marriages for Ann in the free bmd 1841-1851, and she does not appear in the 1851 census..
