Primary events

Secondary circumstances

  • Occupation: William was a tailor. In the 1802 directory of Norwich, a William CHITTOCK is shown as a tailor, stay and habit maker. The business was located in 14 Red Lion Lane. The Red Lion pub was in Red Lion Lane up to 1811, and then the address became Red Lion Street. I think this would be name change rather than a move of the premises. Red Lion Street is still there, and one side has buildings that date back to William's time. The 'lane' skirts Norwich Castle.
  • (Witness) Will_not: He witnessed the will of Sarah Ebden on 6 October 1804 in Norwich, Norfolk, England; that William was her only living son. He, and 2 other men were Bound by the administration document They were William CHITTOCK a Tailor and John CANNELL a saddler, both of Norwich. Her goods were valued at under £100.
