Census details

Some aspects of Matthew James Patterson's life. Matthew James was the eldest of the 19 children of Matthew. He was born 3 days after his parent's marriage. In 1901 census I believe that there were more than 10 Matthew Pattersons directly related to the Matthew born in 1830.

There is a Pathe newsreel - Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. Tugboat tows a sailing ship through a raised bridge into harbour. According to paperwork, sailing ship is German - possibly captured during World War One. Notes from someone who contacted Pathe:"The steam paddle tug boat in the film is the United Services. The United Services was taken over by the Royal Navy at the start of WW2. The bridge that is shown open where the sailing boat is being towed through is the old Haven Bridge."

As Matthew James was the Master of the United Servies tug, and he did not die until 1922, I assume he was in the picture, behind the wheel.
