Commemoration

His death was commemorated by an obituary in the Golden Square, Bendigo newspapers on 14 November 1907 in High Street, Victoria, Australia, The friends of Mr. John Andrew, an old and highly-respected resident of Golden- square, will regret to learn of his death, which took place at his residence, High-street, yesterday afternoon. The de ceased gentleman, who was a native of Cornwall, was 84 years of age, and had resided in Victoria for 50 years. He was well known at Castlemaine, where he lived for 14 years before coming to Bendigo 30 years ago. When a young man Mr. Andrew became connected with the Methodist Church in his native town, and for 60 years he officiated as a local preacher. He was one of the oldest local preachers in the Bendigo Circuit, but owing to failing health, Mr. Andrew was compelled to resign his appointment some six years ago. His death will be sincerely regretted by those who have been associated with him in church work for so many years. The deceased gentleman was a member of the Sandhurst Lodge, G.U.I.O.O.F. He leaves a widow, three sons and three daughters.12
