* He was taken on strength 6th April 1918 (having landed in Calais only 3 days earlier), and was wounded in action 24th April 1918, suffering a gunshot wound to the neck. He rejoined his unit on the 23rd August 1918.
* On 13th September 1918, he was again wounded in action. This time he was gassed. He was admitted to the Exeter War Hospital suffering from Gas Poisoning. He was discharged 18th September 1918
* In 1924, Albert signed for his war medals.
