Raymond Goddard, Ancestor report, 4 William Pollard-Thompson (My Great X 3 Grandfather): a husbandman and farmer in the village of Martham was born on 6th April 1801 and christened a few days later on the 17th April in the parish church of St. Mary the Virgin. He died at the young age of 43 on 11th September 1844 from typhus fever. At the time of his death his occupation was given as farmer and carrier. Present when he died was a Mary Allen.

  7. Raymond Goddard, Ancestor report, His first wife, Sarah Powley, the daughter of Benjamin Powley and Frances Payne, bore him four children. They married when Thomas was aged 20 and Sarah aged 22 on 10th February 1850 at St. Peter’s parish church, Repps-Cum-Bastwick, Norfolk when it is likely that Sarah was already pregnant with their first child.

Raymond Goddard, Ancestor report, It is likely that Thomas moved away to live in Yarmouth and when aged almost 28 Thomas married Hannah Moore on 22nd November 1857 at St. Nicholas Church, the parish church. Witness to the marriage was a Hannah Spence and, at the time of the marriage, both bride and groom lived on Tower Road which may have been by the seafront. Hannah’s signature on the marriage certificate is an ‘X’. Hannah was born in about 1833 in Bacton, Norfolk and was a daughter of John Moore, a shoemaker.
