Research Notes

  • Research note 01: Ann CHITTOCK is mentioned in Clement's will as the widow. There was a marriage between Clement and Ann READ 1/5/1786 in St Alphage, Canterbury. Clem Chittock of St Mary North Cant yeo wid & Ann Read of St Alph Cant wid, at St Alph. 28 Apr 1786. - Book: Volume 32 - Collection: Kent, Surrey, London: - Canterbury Marriage Licences, 1781-1809 (Marriage).
    * There is some chance that Clement CHITTOCK's first marriage was to Rebecca SWAN 18/5/1767. This was also by license from the archbishop of Canterbury but took place in St George Hanover Sq or St Martins in the Fields. Clement was from St Giles, Middlesex.
    * John and his daughter Sarah's family name appears to be Pi???or..
