Census details

Research Notes

  • Research note 01: There are 3 Ann BESSEYs in Flegg in 1841 census. One is a widow born c 1796 (as COCKEREL) in Filby who was married to a Miles; one is this one - wife of William; and the last is also a wife of William. This last couple have children with them, Louisa and John (ages rounded to 15) and Ellena aged 10. I don't have this last family in the database..
  • Research note 03: I don't believe Ann is the one who died in Yarmouth Dec qtr 1847, as this is John's (Ann BOLLOM's step-son) wife..
  • Research note 04: More burials in Sutton - Richard BOLLOM aged 80 in 1860 and Elizabeth BOLLOM aged 86 in 1871 - this couple are together in NAOMI. I found Elizabeth in the 1861 census. She was a boat builder's widow, living in Sutton, born in Thirne. I found them both in the 1851 census. Richard was born in Hickling 1781 and Elizabeth in Ludham in 1783, address was simply Sutton, and Richard is a boat builder. No birth in free reg, but I found the marriage Richard BOLLOM married Elizabeth PIGG in Sutton 18th Nov 1805. A first marriage for both and parents not named.
    * I think there is a fair chance that Anne and Richard are both the children of Thomas and Mary.
