Primary events

Secondary circumstances

  • Occupation: James was Fisherman and fish merchant.
  • wit_to: On 16 September 1789, in Great Yarmouth, James witnessed The marriage of Thomas GREADY and Elizabeth BECKETT. There were other marriages he witnessed around this time, so he may have been church official more than a friend or relation of one or both of the participants.11

Taking a guess at where the link is - you have

Mary Ann Saunders

BIRTH 1820 • Lowestoft, Suffolk, England
DEATH Unknown

Her father is Joseph - parents unknown. I believe his Chr is

County     Suffolk
Place (link for place information)     Lowestoft
Church name     St Margaret
Register type     Parish Register
Baptism date     20 Mar 1793
Birth date     15 Mar 1793
Person forename     Joseph
Person sex     M
Person abode     Lowestoft
Father forename     Joseph
Father surname     SANDERS
Mother forename     Mary
Mother surname     DOWSING

Now things get a little tricky.

Joseph and Mary DOWSING had other children. One was William SAUNDERS 1791-1868.

William married Mary LARN IN 1810 in Lowestoft. Mary is the daughter of James LARN and Elizabeth DAKIN who are my 5thGGP.

I said this was tricky. Those relationships do NOT show a DNA link between us, as your tree shows you are descended from a person who is an in-law. I have many SAUNDERS cousins, but so far none who are descended from any of the Josephs

I will add my SAUNDERS people into my ancestry tree later today. I have a lot more details on my web site www.shirley-elrick.com. (But note it has been 3 months since I updated this).

I have another person with a DNA match to me via James and Elizabeth. The ID is PaulineM133. I think that if you also match to her, then we have proved that this is where the link is - I am not certain of that statement, I am new to this, but it sounds logical. At the very least the fact I have another link means that the link between John and Elizabeth proves my paper research is confirmed. I had this completed long before DNA tests..
