Primary events

Secondary circumstances

  • Immigration: In 1927Edward Charles King emigrated from England A Letter from Shirley Eastoe says "Mum (Jean Eastoe) thought that Edward went to Australia in 1928 with the Salvation Army but in a news clipping in The Yarmouth Mercury it says he went in 1927. It was an article about when he came home for a visit and was reunited with one of his brothers after 50 years and they had obviously interviewed him, so not sure of the exact date unless you know for definite. Mum has a photo of a group of boys who left for Australia on 6/10/1928 but she cannot see Edward on there. The ship was a White Star Liner called "Vedic" so if this was the ship he sailed over on then it could have been 1928."
